(Preah Vihear): On the morning of July 30, 2025, a Cambodian military commander informed military attachés and diplomats from 13 countries about the incident where Thai soldiers arrested 20 Cambodian soldiers (one escaped, two are suspected dead) after the ceasefire had come into force. The arrests occurred as the Cambodian soldiers went to shake hands with the Thai soldiers at the Choam Te battlefield.

The confirmation from the Cambodian military was made on the occasion that high-ranking officials from the Ministry of National Defense led diplomatic corps, foreign military attachés in Cambodia, and relevant stakeholders to inspect the Cambodia-Thailand border to monitor the location and the actual situation regarding the implementation of the ceasefire.

The Cambodian military stated that when the ceasefire took effect on the morning of July 29, 2025, Cambodian soldiers went to shake hands with Thai soldiers. As they were walking back, the Thai soldiers suddenly held them at gunpoint and arrested them.
