Statement of the Sangha Council of the
Maha Nikaya of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the Peace Pilgrimage

Seeing the importance of peace in this way, the Sangha Council would like to request the Thai side to respect a permanent ceasefire and to request the Thai side to release the 18 soldiers who have been taken hostage. As countries that both practice Theravada Buddhism, and for the supreme benefit of the peace and tranquility of the Khmer nation and the entire world.
In particular, the Sangha Council would like to
express its full support for the past physical and mental efforts and
intellectual spirit of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of
the Senate, who, as the chief architect, has shown mature hospitality, has
helped the Royal Government, and has encouraged the Royal Cambodian Armed
Forces to have a more determined will to protect the territorial integrity of
the Kingdom of Cambodia by 100%. We would like to express our gratitude to the
Royal Government of Cambodia, with Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet as
Prime Minister, who has overcome all obstacles in resolving the
Cambodia-Thailand border conflict peacefully in accordance with national and
international law. We would like to commend all the frontline soldiers who have
sacrificed their physical and mental strength for the cause of protecting the
territorial integrity for the survival and peace of the Cambodian people, and
we would like to pay our respects and gratitude to the soldiers who have
sacrificed their lives for the cause of the motherland of the Kingdom of
Cambodia.
