Cambodian Citizens and Monks in Olympia, Washington Thank President Donald Trump

(Washington) – Last weekend, approximately 1,800 Cambodian citizens and monks residing in Washington State, USA, held a "Grand Khmer Family" gathering in front of the Washington State Capitol Building and Campus. The purpose of the gathering was to express their gratitude to United States President Donald Trump for his assistance in facilitating a ceasefire in the border conflict between the Thai and Cambodian armies.

Representatives Mr. Ou Vutha and Mrs. Ou Rady stated that the gathering also had three other important objectives:
  • First: To oppose the invasion and armed violence from Thailand.
  • Second: To demand the release of the 18 soldiers who were captured by the Thai army after the ceasefire on July 29, 2025.
  • Third: To fully encourage and support the heroic bravery of the Cambodian army stationed to protect the border from invaders.

The same representatives also urged the U.S. President to ask the Thai side to release the 18 Cambodian soldiers unconditionally, stating that the actions of the invading Thai soldiers violate international law and are truly inhumane.
