A Thai newspaper in Bangkok tried to publish information interfering in the internal affairs of Cambodia.

On the evening of August 4, 2025, Samdech Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, said, "This morning, a Thai newspaper in Bangkok published about me that I violated the constitution of Cambodia because they saw me participating in commanding the army. Do not be surprised. Let alone being a country leader, even as a citizen, I have the right to fight invaders of my country. For the command of the army, please see the royal message of the King of Cambodia which further clarifies my work that I have been doing and will continue to do on military affairs. Why are you gentlemen so afraid of me coming to work with the army that you express opinions that are of a nature to interfere in Cambodia's internal affairs?

Please do not forget that I am a five-star general and the chairman of the Supreme Privy Council to the King, who has the duty to assist the King in national affairs, including military affairs. However, I will not violate the work of the Prime Minister. With over 38 years of experience as Prime Minister, I have more experience than you gentlemen, and in Cambodia, there is no power struggle between the government and the army. Please, the people of Cambodia, trust in my ability to contribute to helping the Royal Government in military affairs." This is according to Samdech Hun Sen.
