Political Analysis of the 5-Day War Between Cambodia - Thailand, 24 - 29 August 2025
During the 5-day war, Thailand unleashed its full arsenal, including modern tanks, F-16 fighter jets (in violation of its sales agreement with the United States), Gripen Fighter Jets, heavy artillery, cluster bombs (in violation of international law), and even chemical weapons (in violation of international law). A renowned professor in the United States compared the Thai army to a primitive tribe from over 2,000 years ago, focused only on warfare without regard for any laws, and yet still suffering a humiliating defeat. It can be said that Thailand will undoubtedly record this 5-day war with Cambodia in its history as a shameful loss. Turning to Cambodia, we observe that the 2025 war with Thailand was more intense than in 2008. This has shown the world the following:
1. Cambodia wins on every battlefield / Thailand loses on every battlefield (diplomacy, military, international law).
2. Cambodia has internal national unity / Thailand is fragmented (royalty, military, government, citizens, factions).
3. Cambodian troops are persistent,
sacrificial, determined, and brave. The Thai army collapsed, with
inexperienced soldiers, reliant on modern weapons, an army that is large but
young, and soldiers deserting their posts.
4. The world recognizes Cambodia / Thailand
loses face in every current.
5. Cambodia gained much experience from the
2025 war, especially in anti-drone technology, effective air defense
systems, intelligence agents, GPS systems, modern weapons, and fighter jets.
6. The Cambodian military sector, it can be
said, has caused a surprise to the world / Thailand has shown its weakness to
the world in a humiliating way.
7. Tourism sector + Thailand will lose
international tourism from this hour onwards / Cambodia will open a new era in
the tourism sector with sympathy.
8. Cambodia shows the world that it has a
monarch with dignity who loves peace, and the Khmer leadership is intelligent. /
Thailand shows the world that its monarch is unpopular, the Siamese king is a
warmonger with the character of a gangster, and the Thai government is weak and
unable to control its subordinates, especially the military groups that create
hostility along the border and use war to solve problems.
9. Cambodia needs peace, friendship, good neighbors, including fair trade Thailand has enemies in all directions: Laos, Burma, Malaysia, and Cambodia.
10. The
Khmer people are friendly, gentle, merciful, dignified, honest, study history,
and have smiles that come from the heart. Thailand is arrogant, distorts
history, the majority of its people are ignorant and ultranationalist, do not
study themselves, are excessively proud, and look down on other surrounding
nations.
11.The
Khmers are united as one, including the army, officials, the people, local
youth, and those living abroad. This unity is a strength that can
withstand the enemy's attacks and counter-attack the enemy effectively.
